You Don't Have to Keep Repeating the Same Patterns.

MEET THE TEAM

LAURA BURCH

Founder | Individual, Couples, Trauma & Relationship

You Don't Have to Keep Repeating the Same Patterns.

There are times in life when you know something needs to change, but you don't know how to make it happen.

Maybe you've survived experiences that have left you anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or constantly on guard.

Maybe you've left an abusive or unhealthy relationship but still find yourself questioning yourself, struggling with boundaries, or repeating familiar relationship patterns.

Maybe you're the person everyone relies on, but you're exhausted from holding everything together.

Or perhaps your work has exposed you to things most people will never experience, and you're finding it harder to leave work at work.

Laura understands that healing isn't simply about talking about what happened. It's about understanding how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, relate, and respond—and finding a way forward that feels safe and meaningful.

Laura's Specialties

Trauma & PTSD

First Responder Mental Health

First Responder Mental Health

Laura has extensive experience supporting people who have experienced trauma and the ongoing effects it can have on the mind, body, relationships, and sense of self.

First Responder Mental Health

First Responder Mental Health

First Responder Mental Health

Having worked alongside police and within major crime units, including human trafficking, Laura understands the unique demands of first responder work from the inside.

She understands that first responders may experience critical incidents, cumulative trauma, hypervigilance, burnout, compassion fatigue, sleep difficulties, relationship strain, and the challenge of transitioning between a high-alert work environment and home life.

Abuse, Violence & Exploitation

Relationships, Boundaries & Repeating Patterns

Relationships, Boundaries & Repeating Patterns

Laura has specialized experience supporting individuals affected by domestic violence, family violence, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking.

Her work recognizes not only the trauma itself, but the impact these experiences can have on identity, trust, safety, relationships, self-worth, and the ability to move forward.

Relationships, Boundaries & Repeating Patterns

Relationships, Boundaries & Repeating Patterns

Relationships, Boundaries & Repeating Patterns

Laura has a particular interest in helping people understand why they may repeatedly find themselves in relationships or situations that don't feel healthy.

If you find yourself thinking:

"Why do I always choose the same type of person?"

"Why do I keep putting everyone else's needs before my own?"

"Why do I know something isn't right but still struggle to leave?"

"Why do I feel like I'm walking on eggshells?"

"Why do I feel guilty when I set a boundary?"

Therapy can help you understand these patterns and begin creating something different.

Attachment-informed approaches

Laura believes that trauma and difficult experiences can be experienced in the body, not just remembered in the mind.

Therapy may therefore include helping clients develop greater awareness of their physical and emotional responses, build regulation skills, safely process difficult experiences, and reconnect with themselves.

Laura's Personal Style

Laura believes therapy should feel like a place where you can be honest about what is really happening—not a place where you have to pretend everything is okay.

Her style is compassionate, warm, direct, and collaborative.

She will meet you where you are while also helping you recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you.

Sometimes healing requires validation and support.

Sometimes it requires gently challenging the beliefs, behaviours, and tolerations that are keeping you stuck.

Laura's role is not to tell you how to live your life.

It's to walk beside you while you learn to trust yourself, understand yourself, and make choices that are more aligned with the life you want.
